Enrichment: Plants

This is a plant.  This is a plant with its parts labeled.  You have been working in stations that are all about plants.  Your challenge is to write a paragraph that answers the following questions:  Does this organism create its own energy?  How do you know?  We can't wait to hear what you say about plants.  Make sure you use your research from the stations.  Strong vocabulary is a must!  See you at the edge!

  2. Yes , this organism creates its own food. This plant does make its own food because it is a producer. Producers make there own energy for food. There energy comes from the sun. One part of a plant called the roots sucks up nutrition for the plant from the ground. So a plant does create its own food.I know that because it is an producer. This is how plants get energy. 3. Plants create their own energy by their organisms which creates light. It creates process in by which a plant creates its own energy. This is by photosynthesis. The sun gives the flower energy and food. It survives by the roots which find the water for the flower. The leaves give sunlight for food. The stem carries water. The flower gives off the seeds. 4. The main parts to help the plant survive are the roots, leaves, and the stems. Photosynthesis is when a producer(plant)creates its own energy and nutrients. The process of Photosynthesis is when sunlight hits the plant and gives the plant some Energy. The plant needs Energy to live and help insects live and get pollen.

  5. Most plants make there own food. The plant above does in fact make its own food. Flowers like this one and other plants use photosynthesis which allows a plant to survive in the wild. Water goes through small holes to the flower to help make food. roots gather the water. Yes this plant makes its own food.

  6. This organism creates its own energy. How you may ask? Well it all started with the sun. Then a seed was on the ground. Then the seed sunk into the ground. And suddenly it grew and grew and grew. And made an beautiful flower. And when the flower dies, when it tips over some of the middle seeds fall out to make an new flower. Then the life cycle starts over and over.

  7. Yes this organism does create its own energy. I know because the sun gives the plant energy. The plant goes through photosynthesis. Which a plant is a producer that makes it own energy. The roots of a plant get the water for the plant to drink. The stem makes the plant stand strong. The leaves get the carbon dioxide for the plants to breathe in and release oxygen. The flower gets the energy and gives it to the plant. That is how the organism gets its own food. Dean

This organism is a producer, these create their own energy through photosynthesis. Photosynthesis is how the plant creates food on it’s own. Here is the cycle of photosynthesis: when the plant is all plant not seed, the roots take in water that is one ingredient for the plants surprise, while the roots do their thing the leaves take in what we breathe out, carbon dioxide, this is another ingredient for the surprise. Their surprise is oxygen and glucose. Glucose is sugar for the plant, and oxygen as you know we breathe so plants are important. I know a producer when I see the following: roots (may not see) leaves.

    Mini Dictionary:

producer: an organism that creates it’s own energy.

photosynthesis: the producers cycle of food.

carbon dioxide: what we breathe out.

    oxygen: what we breathe in.

    glucose: “plant sugar”.

  9. Yes, it does make its own energy. I know because the leaves take in energy from the sun. This happens by photosynthesis. Photosynthesis allows plants to make there own energy. This makes a plant a producer. Plants have different parts that allows the plants to live. Such as the roots, stem, and leaves. Carbon dioxide is a gas that a in. Oxygen is a gas that a plant produces. Without the help of plants we could not live on earth. _Brooks_

  10. Based on my research we have learned that plants make energy .There are some parts of the flower help it survive .The most important parts of an plant's survival are the stems that helps the water get to the flower. The leaves help catch water when the plans have had enough. The roots help get water. Most of these thing are what it takes to make energy and nutrients that the plant needs to have to be able to have photosynthesis. In which that is also used to make oxegen we need to survive. I hope you engoyed.

  11. Based on my research from the stations, this organism does make it’s own food. Here are the reasons on how I know. This is an picture of an plant. Plants are producers. Producers are organisms that create their own energy during photosynthesis. That is how I know that this organism makes it’s own food.

  12. A plant can create it's own energy by their organisms which create light. The plant can create it's own energy
by photosynthesis. The Sun gives the plant energy. The roots take up the energy to which helps the plant to grow. The leaves give sunlight for food. The stem carries the water. The plant breathes in the carbon dioxide, and it breathes out oxygen. It is the opposite of what humans breathe in and out.

  13. Based on the research I've done I know that this organism does make its on food. How do I know? I know that plants are producers and producers make there on food through photosynthesis. How do plants make food in photosynthesis. The leaves take in carbon dioxide and reseals oxygen. The flower takes in energy from the sun and uses it to make food.

  14. Producers are organisms that create there own food during photosynthesis. According to my text they create an type of sugar called glucose. To create glucose the plant would have to have sunlight, water and carbon dioxide. The leaves get sun then water goes to the roots, and the carbon dioxide enters an plant's leaves through tiny holes called stomata.
