Enrichment: Natural Resources

Natural resources are things from the environment that are useful to people.  Renewable resources can be replaced in a short period of time.  Enjoy reading the acrostics that the 3rd graders created using the letters to describe the word RENEWABLE.

See you at the edge!

  1. I’m going to tell you about my acrostic that spells out RENEWABLE. First we need to know what an acrostic is. An acrostic is where you spell out a word in an column. Hope you enjoy our creative acrostics.
    Reusable...reuse garbage for new things.
Energy...energy is something that makes light.
Natural... things that are sometimes renewable.
    Environment… the environment is everywhere.
    Water...water is everywhere.
Animals...if something dies it can be replaced by another.
Bio Fuel...an fuel made from agricultural crops.
Living Organisms…things that go on forever.
Elm Tree...Elm Trees can be used to make houses.
This acrostic can help you learn about things that are
    RENEWABLE.

R- Replaceable objects are exactly what renewable is.

E- Energetic resources can be renewable

N- Natural resources can be renewable

E- Elephants are animals so they are renewable.

W- Water is being replaced constantly so it is renewable

A- Animals are constantly being replaced so they are renewable.

    B- Bricks are renewable.

    L- Limestone is renewable.

    E- Environments are renewable

  3. Have you ever heard of a natural resource? A natural resource is something that we can use to live. There are three types of natural resources - renewable, nonrenewable, and natural resource. Here are some renewable resources.

Resources ...because this is a type of natural resource

Elm tree ...because a tree comes back to life a gives us oxygen to live

Natural ...because this is a type of natural resource

Energy ...because the sun’s energy comes back at day in certain places

Water ...because it can be used for multiple activities at multiple times without going out

Animals ...because when they die you can take their fur and meat to use in a short period of time

Bark ...because anything on a tree is renewable

Land life ...because it comes from Mother Nature who gives natural resources

European lime ...because an European lime is a tree that’s seeds are useful to plant another

  4. Today I will tell you what I did for my acrostic. What is an acrostic any way? An acrostic is where you line letters up in an column and write words in the column starting with that letter in the column. It is easy and you have probably done one. My word for my acrostic is: RENEWABLE.

When making an acrostic, it is probably good to have a theme. Also, if it is a large word I recommend working with a group/partner. . It went faster and easier when I worked with a group. You are combining your strengths. Let’s get started.

    Replaceable.. We can replace trees!
    Energy..gives life.
    Natural...sometimes renewable.
Elm tree comes back to life and continues to give us oxygen.
    Water..is an natural resource.
    Animals..are replaced.
    Biofuel...renewable liquid made of crops.
    Living organisms... last forever.
    Environment...is everywhere.

How do you feel about my acrostic? If you have any comments I am Alex Vires, or you can type a comment. Alex Vires

  5. R - Resources are renewable.
E - Energy is also renewable.
N - Natural things cannot be replaced.
E - European lime trees can be replaced quickly.
W - Water is surprisingly renewable.
A - Animals can be Burnt or cept captivity
B - Bark can be replaced.
L - Landfilled gas can be burned for heat.
E - Elm tree can be burnt

There are 3 types of natural resources non renewable , renewable and alternative energy . Renewable things can be replaced. Trees and oxygen are considered renewable because they are constantly being replaced. I enjoyed learning about natural resources. By: Brady

Natural resources are renewable, non renewable, and natural resources such as solar energy, water, wind, phosphate, oil, and limestone. Renewable resources can be replaced in a short period of time.
R- There are resources such as plants.
E- Energy can be used again.
    N- There are natural resources.
E- An elm tree can be burnt for energy.
W- There is water as in the water cycle.
A- Animals have babies to make more.
B- Bark can be burnt for energy.
L- Landfield gas is used to make for energy.
E-European lime is burnt for energy.
Each one of these is a renewable resource and each can be replaced in an short period of time. Each one of these we can reuse. We need all these things to survive.

R- Renewable (Renewable means that it can be replaced in an short period of time.)
E- Energy (The sun gives plants energy.)
    N- Natural (Natural resources)
E- Elm Tree (Can be burned to make energy)
    W- Water (Water cycle)
A- Animals (Has babies to make more)
    B- Bark (Can be burned)
L- Landfill gas (Made for gas)

  8. Today let’s make something new! It is called an acrostic! What’s a acrostic though? A acrostic is where you line up letters. (like a column) And write definitions starting with that letter. (In the exact column) Work with an partner if it is an big word. I worked with Alex V. Well… most of the time.

    Replaceable..we can replace trees!

    Energy..gives life!

    Natural..sometimes renewable

    Elm tree..comes back to life

    Water..is everywhere

    Animals..are replaced

    N.natural
    E.european lime
    W.water
    A.animal
    B.bark
    L.landfills
    E.elm tree

Renewable resources are resources, energy, natural, trees water, animals, bark, and landfills.Resources can be renewable like apples. Some energy is from garbage so things are reused. Some natural resources are renewable like tin.The European lime is an tree so the seeds make new plants.when there is rain it comes from groundwater.Animals reproduce so they have more animals to reuse and eat.Bark can be reused by planting new plants.Landfills fills the air so it can make natural energy.Elm trees are plants so you can replant them.BRAYDEN

A- animal babies grow up then one is new born.

  17. We will be typing about renewable. This will use an acrostic. The acrostic will include all
The letters in renewable to make words that are related in someway. Here is me acrostic of renewable.

    R-reusable: Renewable resources are reusable
E-Energy: It is renewable and can be recovered in an short amount of time
N-natural gas: It is used for energy
E-European lime: It can be burnt for energy
W-water:The water cycle keeps on going around and around
A- Animals: because an baby is born and that baby and that baby has a baby and so on
L-landfill: gas: when used it can make energy
B-bark: Can be burnt for e=mc
E-Elm tree:Can be burnt and regrown

That is what stations led up to.That is my acrostic of renewable resources. That is my acrostic from station 4 of natural resources.
